There is an action (circumstance), a reaction and an outcome.

Circumstance + reaction = outcome

We often cannot control circumstances. There is a fire and we lose valuable information. The government passes a law that negatively affects our business. We’re supposed to meet a client and our car breaks down on the way.

But we can control our reaction to the circumstance and it is our reaction that will determine the ultimate outcome. Will the outcome be beneficial or will it make us bitter?

Our focus should be on a proper reaction not on the circumstance.

In the last article we dealt with this question and came to understand that the answer depends upon the condition of the inner heart.

It’s okay for Christians to be rich but there are some strong warning in the Bible.

Paul wrote to Timothy and warned him, “But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.”

And then he goes on to say, “And some people, craving money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.”

Is it Okay for Christian to Be Rich?

The answer to that is an emphatic Yes and No!

How can this be? It is because so much of what we do is not based upon what we see it is based upon what is going on inside. What is our heart condition?

Paul said to Titus, “To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled.” 1:15

Tim was wondering why he was feeling so stressed out and struggling with depression and frustration. He was always behind on his projects. He felt like he was running, running, running but getting nowhere.

Then he came across a study from the UCLA’s Center on Everyday Lives and Families (CELF), they discovered that clutter has a big impact on our moods and self-esteem.

They found that the more stuff a women had in her house the higher the level of cortisol, a stress hormone, was in her system.

If you’re going to build your business on the Fear Of God, then there are going to be times of testing.

Others may laugh at or ridicule a decision you make. They’ll tell you, “That doesn’t make sense.”

But if it’s according to Bible Based principles then we need to stand up and say “I’m not ashamed of God and the wisdom of His Word. This decision may cost me financial loss but it’s the right thing to do.”

God will honor you for your Biblical standard and you’ll reap the long term benefits in your business as you trust Him.

The Foundation

Building Your Business On The Right Foundation

Laying the right foundation is important no matter if you are building a house, planting a garden, or building a business.

As Christians we know the importance of building on the right foundation. Without it everything is wasted. So what is the right foundation?

Everything begins with the fear of the Lord. The Book of Proverbs tells us the Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. (1:7)

We cannot begin to grasp even the practical aspects of our business until we walk in the fear of the Lord.

I believe God made us interdependent. We need one another to enjoy life and success to it’s fullest.

You are the sum total of what others think of you. That’s why it’s important to be around people who encourage you, believe in you and recognize your worth before God.

You believe about yourself what others believe about you. You need someone to believe in you to succeed.

Here are five things you can do to live your dreams and reach your potential.

Effective time management and true productivity is not based on how well you master the tactics of email, handling interruptions, telephone, planning, or whatever else.

Excellent tactics will not help you reach a place of peace and contentment. But, having the proper understanding and mindset about time, your life and your projects will make you a true productivity machine.

It’s all about mental prep for time management. Without a change of thought true change of action will not last. The biggest hindrance to effective time management is your own mindset.

“The best way to make right choices is to know where your going, know why you want to go there and know what you need to do to get there.”

Why do we spend so much time doing the things that matter little to us? Why do we involve ourselves in so many activities which do not help us achieve our goals or fulfill our purpose?

“The most important single reason is being unclear about our values and our goals.” Gilian Butler of Managing Your Mind

Creating Value

Don’t wake up each morning wondering how you can make more money, instead be thinking how can I create more value. Money will follow the value and not only money but peace, joy and pleasure in what you are doing.

Help people solve their problems and the money will follow therefore focus on how you can help people.

Make a list of ways that you can help alleviate other people’s pain. Think about your skills and passions and than write down the ways you can use your strengths to help other people overcome their weaknesses.
