Archives For Achieving Goals

In all areas of our life this law holds true, whether it be health, relationships, career, increasing our knowledge base, growing our business or our spiritual growth. We must embrace a certain amount of pain or we will not grow.

Can you give some examples of how this works in different areas of life and business? Post your examples.

Another factor in reaching your goals is to not overload yourself. Too many goals can cause your mind and soul to shut down. Go ahead and dream of things you might get to eventually but take the time to seriously and prayerfully narrow down your goals.

There are four areas of life that you need to set goals in and these can be subdivided.

1. Relationships- family, wife or husband, friendships

2. Personal growth- developing good habits, improving personal skills, gaining knowledge, time to relax and refresh

3. Spiritual- time with God and His people

In order to arrive someplace you have to know where you’re going. This is a basic and obvious statement that can be passed over and disregarded. But if you do that you’ll lose the power of God’s creative principle of the vision.

You can call them goals, a vision, purpose, a target, what I want to get done or anything else but the bottom line is this . . . I need to get something accomplished, I need to reach my destination.

3. Lack of persistent action.  Tony Robbins said, “You see, in life, lots of people know what to do, but few people actually do what they know. Knowing is not enough! You must take action.”

I add on to that persistent action. It isn’t the one massive action that accomplishes great things. It will be the day by day persistent action that will eventually win.

“The lazy desires and yet has nothing. But the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.” Proverbs 13:4

Everywhere we turn God is wanting to teach us the power

There are three reasons for failure in business, life and relationships. My wife and I have done marriage counseling and family counseling, we’ve taught child training seminars, and worked with many wounded people. I’ve talked to and counseled with business owners and I can say that all failures whether in business or life boil down to these three areas.

Lack of vision, lack of knowledge, lack of persistent action.

These three have been hindering the human race for thousands of years.

Seeing is believing

Jesus said;  “…whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

Before you receive you have to believe and before you believe you have to see. If you can get your mind around this one concept it will unlock doors and release special treasures that have been hidden from you.

Everything around you was first seen in the mind before it became a reality. A car, a piece of furniture, a computer. Everything that is visible was first invisible. It could not be seen with the eye but it was seen with the heart. “we understand that… the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible” Hebrews 11

Life and business is not all cut and dry with everything falling into place as planned.

Sometimes you can do everything right but than everything seems to go wrong.

What should we do?

The most important thing is to look in the right direction. Look up and look in.

Looking up moves our focus to God who is in control and who is never surprised.

Looking in helps us to see that God lives within us to comfort and give wisdom. An old prophet gave some excellent advice. He starts out by stating that if everything goes wrong
