Deciding Where to Market

We all face the dilemma in our business of where and how to market. What will work and what won’t work.

God gives us some wisdom in that area. Hear what He says:

“In the morning sow your seed and in the evening do not withhold your hand. For you do not know which will prosper, either this or that, or whether both alike will be good.”

We call it testing. You try different ways to advertise and market and see which one works. Very seldom do you know from the beginning what will take off and what will fall flat.

I ran a yellow page ad in Oregon and the exact same one in Florida and had two completely different results. The ad in Oregon generated 15 to 25 calls a week the ad in Florida generated one call for the entire year.

I don’t know why the big difference but things like that happen. The principle behind the above verse from Ecclesiastes is to try different things, be diligent, don’t cast all your seed in one place, and test different ways to get the word out about your business.

Don’t be too narrow in your tactics and don’t give up.
